Donated set of pipes

Last night Joyce donated a set of pipes to the band. They are a set the she bought when learning the pipes about 20 years ago but haven't been played for a long time. The pipes are made by Christies of Sydney and are in quite good condition.

Sorting through the pipe case was a real trip down memory lane for me with:
leather bag, DRM chanter reeds, cane drone reeds, PB bag seasoning, tartan bag cover, wool cords, beeswax and tie in string.

Thanks for that Joyce!

Recording from last nights practice

I was playing with the recorder this evening and grabbed a few sets of the band playing. Here is the Bonnie Galloway set. Hmmm... high A, don't remember it sounding like that. Also blowing issues but it was the end of the night..

I've removed the video as it only seems to be available for a few hours and then becomes unavailable. A quick google search shows that this seems to be a long term problem.

If interested let me know and I'll get a copy to you.

February Band Practice

Well it's been a hot start to the year, with more than a few practices at over 39C. Here are some photos from this year. It's great to see strong practices early in the year. I'll place more photos on the bands Picassa site for Liz to link into the website.

A couple of wedding pics ....

Hi all,

After being hassled by numerous people from the band I've finally relented and put a few of our wedding photos up on the blog. The day went very well and was definitely less stressful than I thought it might be. Thanks again for all you best wishes.
